April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) –Babson celebrated from March 29 – April 2 with its 7th annual CARE Week! Wellness & Prevention Services would like to thank everyone that attended events, wore teal and shared their support for survivors. It’s not too late to catch the SPEAK Out Open Mic event – head to @babsonwellness on Instagram to watch performances by your fellow Babson students. To get involved in SAAM beyond Babson, check out the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) Virtual Walk for Change, which is happening on April 25th.
Part of the work of ending sexual assault, relationship violence and gender- based discrimination is to raise awareness of what a healthy relationship looks like. You may have noticed our posters around campus highlighting what is and isn’t healthy – including statistics from our recent survey of Babson students. Qualities of healthy relationships include mutual respect, open communication, honesty, trust, support and equality.
Are you questioning if your relationship, or that of a friend’s is healthy?
Call the SAFE Hotline at 781-239-7233 to speak anonymously – trained advocates staff the line 24/7/365.
