With classes in full swing, strong organizational habits are necessary in order to stay on top of assignments, exams, and extracurricular commitments. Here are some tips that I find to work in my benefit!

  • Use Google Calendar: Google Calendar is a great organizational tool to keep track of classes, meeting times, club activities, and anything else important. I recommend downloading the app onto your phone and turning on notifications for easy access.
  • Write down a weekly plan: Writing down a weekly plan of all important assignments and deliverables is a great way to relieve stress. I have found that having a plan and sticking to it not only mitigates stressful nights of cramming, but also boosts my mental health since it gives me a sense of accomplishment.
  • Take your mind off school: As hard as it may sound, especially during the thick of midterm season, try setting even half of the day away to take your mind off school. It is normal to have that feeling where you always feel like you need to be doing something, like getting ahead on readings and assignments. I like putting my backpack in my closet out of sight when I feel bonged down with work and need a breather.
